ABOUT US
Welcome to Washington University’s Health Sciences Outreach web site, where we are taking health and science to the community.
Here we provide information about our many outstanding programs for a variety of communities.
Are you a teacher? We offer hands-on science curriculum materials, classroom visits and field trips that will engage your K-12 students. Or we might be able to provide “recycled” lab equipment for your classroom. Our outreach programs offer something for you, too, pairing teachers with Washington University scientists for enrichment opportunities.
High-school students might choose our job shadowing or internship programs, or a summer research experience.
Exceptional college students from groups traditionally underrepresented in biomedical research can apply for a 10-week summer research session. Students wishing to pursue a research career can look into our MD/PhD program. Our efforts to promote diversity in the medical field are also available here.
We offer training opportunities to post-graduate scientists and physicians through the Division for Biology and Biomedical Sciences and the medical school.
Community groups can access resources from the Siteman Cancer Center that aim to reduce cancer disparities in the St. Louis area.
For the general public, classes at our Mini-Medical School provide a wealth of knowledge without exams — a perfect introduction to medicine for high school students and seniors alike.
Washington University Human Resources is always seeking potential staff who are excited to join one of the top teaching and research institutions in the United States.
We hope that browsing this site will encourage the interest in science that brought you here.
